According to Guido, the wife of Glenn Mulcaire, the phone hacker at the centre of the phone tap scandal has asked for the press to respect her privacy.
And I have a large degree of sympathy for her and her family.
As ironic as it may be, what did she actually know about what her husband does day-in-day-out?
I have spent my career in the relatively boring world of finance - yes I have received tip-offs, leaked memos etc but at the end of the day nothing that would excite the world.
But what if I was on the general desk at the Sun or News of the World? I very much doubt I would tell my wife all that I was working on.
So yes, I do feel sympathy but I has to admit the irony of the story does make me go ahahhahhahhaaahahahaa!
Oh, and on Rebekah Brook - Either she knew what was going on, so she should be sacked, or, she didn't know what was going on in her patch so she should be sacked for incompetence.

THE SMOKING GUN
Now this is interesting
Dizzy found the pic and has rightly pointed out that it doesn't look real.
Besides the point that the smoke is obviously behind the child's head and not in its face the smoke itself doesn't look real.
If you look at Piper's mouth and cheeks it is clear that she is inhaling, which means there shouldn't be that much smoke!

The Sun
So the Sun has decided to back Cameron, albeit reluctantly.
But the great thing to hear is the huffing and puffing of the left over this.
A few things to note:
Papers do not decide elections.
Papers reflect the readership's view not set it
Around 40% of the Sun's readership has always voted Labour, people forget it was orginally left-of-centre when it started.
One more thing and there is an increasing amount of waffle about what is "right". Apparently The Sun supporting Labour was a perfectly right thing to do but the other way round is an affront to democracy and that "people decide elections, not newspapers". Perfectly right Gordon but why is it only important when The Sun turns Tory?
